I cannot be sure Einstein said this because he’s had so many quotes attributed to him incorrectly.
Yet the message is true, from his lips or not.
Failure, although hard, educates you.
It’s the harsh flick of the wrist across your face. It hurts, and depending on whose wrist it belongs to, the pain can be quite severe. Yet failure teaches us a lot about a lot.
Suffering and pain and deprivation as a whole does.
And it doesn’t always have to be your pain and deprivation.
Having the sense to look around you and “feel” what others are feeling and going through (ie: empathy) can teach you everything you need to know to act accordingly next.
to take that next step.
to do the right thing.
to not just learn, but act.
If all you do is win, it blinds you of the truth.
If all you do is experience privilege…
IT blinds you of the goddamn TRUTH!
