The waves are rocky around these parts.
They climb high and crash with vigor.
They hit hard, without mercy.
They come and keep coming.
You can fight them, if you like.
Maybe you will get somewhere.
More likely, you’ll tire and grow old.
You can, of course, choose to ride them.
Lay back, let them carry you.
Be a small, calm island amidst the chaos.
As those around you rage, you sit still.
As life surrounds you, seeming to cause havoc.
You take it in, at peace with what happens.
Some of it will be good.
Other parts of it won’t be.
Be calm. Remain calm.
Find peace amongst the rabble.
Even the most violent storm has stillness at its center.
Be that peace. As everything around you crumbles, be still.
