“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu
To an extent, don’t we all yearn for more?
To achieve more.
To understand more.
To experience more.
to BE more?
It’s a part of growth.
It is the journey we’re on.
To look out toward yonder and imagine who we might be.
Yet then we cling to who we are.
Maybe the person we’ve always been.
It’s all we know, after all.
Much of it exists below the surface.
Out of sight.
Out of mind.
Out of question.
Yet the only way to break free and go beyond the pale…
… is leave the house behind and step over the fence.
Leave the past where it is.
Let go of what once was and is.
To commit to the next step, in faith further steps will present themselves in due course.
This is how you become who you might be.
Easy to imagine and dream about.
Yet to do it requires action.
The leap; that faith; that ‘letting go’.
